It's not just the rugby players that will be clocking up the stats on the weekend at the NZI Sevens. The Spotless Group (NSZX:SPT),official Westpac Stadium caterers, will serve over 500,000 food and beverage items throughout the Sevens tournament.
Spotless will manage the preparation, cooking, assembly, and distribution for 86 outlets and locations scattered across Westpac Stadium and grounds. This includes the Member areas, corporate suites, restaurants, cafes, dining rooms, function rooms, marquees, bars and food outlets.
Spotless will have a team of 750 staff on hand, including 250 kitchen staff. The first shift begins 6am Friday, and the last 2am Sunday.
Spotless General Manager of Hospitality and Retail, Mark Owens, a veteran of managing catering at major sporting events, says the Spotless team is well prepared having hosted many Seven's tournaments not to mention The Big Day Out, Rugby Test Matches and more than 50 major events at Westpac Stadium every year.
"We are well prepared and excited about the tournament, the logistics, planning and attention to detail that goes into catering for this event is staggering and Spotless will have a team of more than 750 people working across the ground to help ensure fans have a fantastic couple of days,' he says.

Crowds in the outer will consume:
- 50,000 of chips
- 15,000 burgers and subs
- 15,000 hot dogs
- 40,000 soft drinks
Corporate Dining and entertainment guests will consume:
- 750kg Perla potatoes
- 3, 000 ice creams
- 3,000 portions of caramelised pork belly
- 220 kg Angus beef fillet
- 5, 000 portions of afternoon tea cake
- 40 kg Aoraki salmon
- 80kg free range chicken
