Spotless Group Limited has confirmed plans for expansion into the NSW region with the purchase of the business and associated assets of Pearl, a commercial laundry based in North Rocks NSW.
Pearl has joined Spotless' Laundry Services division and will operate under the Ensign brand. Pearl has been providing quality laundry, linen rental services in the Sydney region for over 27 years with a number of highly regarded hospitality groups amongst its client portfolio.
The acquisition of Pearl expands Spotless' laundry services capacity in the NSW market, increasing output by 100 tonnes per week. The purchase further benefits Spotless by allowing all its NSW based laundries to align to specific market segments, realising synergies and offering specialisation at each plant with the concentration of people and technologies.
The acquisition delivers immediate value; the site is fully functional and meets Spotless' sustainability requirements with latest generation washing machine technology that uses fewer chemicals, water, and energy. The acquisition will further increase Spotless' expertise in cleaning and processing techniques.
Said Jo Farnik, CEO and Managing Director of Spotless Group, "The acquisition is a strategic investment into the NSW market.
"With increased resources and capability, and bringing on board Pearl's established customer base, Spotless will be in a position to accelerate growth across the NSW region and meet demanding growth targets.
"The acquisition will further consolidate Spotless' position as a leading supplier in the laundry services market nation-wide."
Spotless's Laundry Services division (Ensign) currently supports over 2,000 customers across NSW and the ACT including education, retail, health and aged care services and food manufacturers.
All Pearl contracts will continue to operate as normal, with the same work standards and daily services schedules to meet customer demand.
