The Department of Corrections has awarded a major five year facilities management contract to Spotless Group Limited (NZX/ASX:SPT). The contract spans 20 prisons and 125 community probation and psychological services sites.
As part of a single contract, which begins on 1 July 2010, Spotless will employ more than 100 people servicing 145 locations nationally.
Spotless will be responsible for delivering approximately 15 services including skilled trades, asset maintenance, cleaning and painting services.
Josef Farnik, Spotless Group Managing Director and CEO, said the contract is recognition of Spotless' ability to deliver multiple services within critical client environments - 24 hours, seven days a week.
"Spotless will provide the Department of Corrections with a comprehensive suite of service solutions. Today's announcement reinforces Spotless' capability to deliver integrated support services in highly specialised environments.
