Our dedicated re-use facilities in the USA and UK process billions of used garment hangers. Returned hangers are cleaned, re-packed and re-distributed ready to be used again. This significantly curbs consumption rates of raw materials and reduces overall green house gas emissions.
The re-use program comprises six steps in the cycle – a true partnership between retailers, garment manufacturers and Spotless.
- Cashier removes hanger from garment
- Hanger is placed in a tote box under cash register
- Hangers from the tote box are transferred to a Braiform supplied ‘big box’ at the back of store
- When the big box is full, it is labelled with store details and sent back to the distribution centre, then on to the Braiform re-use centre
- Hangers are sorted, cleaned and re-packaged
- Re-usable hangers are sent back to the garment manufacturer.
Garment hangers unable to be re-used are recycled to make new product, providing retailers with solutions that are both economical and environmentally sustainable.
