As a responsible corporate citizen, we recognise that our activities, products or services may have a significant impact on the environment. Our approach to this challenge is to work internally and with customers, governments and environmental organisations throughout the globe to develop initiatives and programs that make a real difference.
Building on this commitment, our Environmental Policy provides a systematic approach for environmental management across the business, having regard to sustainability, preventing pollution and continual improvement in environmental performance.
Specifically, we aim to minimise any impact on the environment by:
- promoting environmental awareness and providing the resources and information amongst suppliers, contractors and partners to improve environmental management resources
- developing and implementing environmental management systems that plan, document, reduce, monitor and improve environmental performance
- using our natural resources efficiently including minimising, reusing and recycling wastes to the extent practicable
- monitoring, reviewing and reporting on environmental performance including the achievement of environmental objectives and targets as established
- complying with relevant legislation especially regarding the use of heavy metals and other restrictive substances
Throughout this section we have highlighted some of the key areas where we are striving to make a difference, particularly in reducing water and energy consumption and implementing innovative re-use initiatives.
