Lots of People
Lots of Places
Lots of Opportunity
As a service-based organisation, we recognise that our people are our greatest asset. When you join Spotless, you become part of a global team that strives for innovation and excellence in everything we do.
Lots of people
We've grown up a lot since opening our doors in 1946 as a single dry-cleaning store in Smith St, Fitzroy. Today Spotless is a multi-national organisation with over 37,000 employees working in more than 30 countries - and growing! There has never been a more exciting time to join Spotless than right now.
Lots of places
We have a reputation for being a great place to build a career, because the opportunities we offer are as diverse as the services we deliver to our customers. Spotless is more than chips and pies at the MCG or office cleaning - you could find yourself working in a hospital, at a VIP event, on an oil rig... or maybe just down the road from your place. If you take a good look around, you will notice that you are never far from a Spotless service or employee.
Lots of opportunities
We operate in almost every market sector including government, defence, health, education, tourism and leisure, resources, industry and commerce and we recruit for almost any job you can think of (and a few you can't) across our four businesses:
- Managed Services - our facilities management and asset maintenance staff work in every imaginable capacity from driving buses in remote mining villages in the Kimberley, to demagnetising navy vessels at defence bases in Queensland.
- Food Services - while our kitchen hands are busily working on game days at the MCG, our Head Chefs are preparing banquets at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. Our food preparation and hospitality staff work across entertainment and function venues, airports and health and educational facilities in Australia and New Zealand.
- Cleaning Services - from providing the cleaning services at special events like the Vancouver Olympics and Melbourne Grand Prix, to cleaning power station turbines the length of two football fields, our cleaners are highly trained to tackle some pretty big and unusual cleaning jobs.
- Laundry Services - we employ laundry operators, logistics, asset maintenance and team leaders to work at our laundries located from Northcote to Darwin. Spotless will soon be operating the most environmentally friendly laundry in the Sothern Hemisphere using 100% recycled water.
At head offices and sites located throughout Australia and New Zealand we also offer careers spanning all business support functions:
- Administration
- Business Development
- Communications & Marketing
- Finance/Accounting
- Human Resources

Traineeships and Apprenticeships
The way we see it, an investment in our staff is an investment in our future and no one demonstrates this more successfully than our trainees and apprentices.
Traineeships have been offered at Spotless since 1984 and today we employ almost 2000 trainees through our National Vocational Training Program.
Also known as Australian Apprenticeships, the program offers eligible staff a nationally recognised qualification by combining on-the-job knowledge with training in the workplace. Qualifications cover many of Spotless core services including hospitality, health, maintenance, cleaning services, laundry operations, logistics and support services such as business and finance.
But we are not entirely selfless in providing these great opportunities; the benefits of traineeships for Spotless are long-term. Our training and development programs help us to attract, retain and develop the highest quality staff, maintain our focus on safety and customer service, while ensuring our staff are consistently trained to the highest level nationally.
Diversity
Spotless is a culturally diverse organisation and we're committed to meeting significant targets for the employment of Indigenous Australians. Spotless has been a member of the Corporate Leader for Indigenous Employment Program since 1991 and has been actively supporting indigenous employees in our workplaces through a variety of initiatives for many years. As part of this program, Spotless is committed to offering employment opportunities and career pathways for indigenous people.
Safety
Safety continues to be of primary importance throughout the Spotless Group. We have a vision of zero injuries in the workplace. Through our safety@spotless program we communicate safety throughout the business and promote a culture where injury prevention is part of everybody's job.
Five Core Safety Beliefs
- All Injuries can be prevented.
- Everyone is responsible for injury prevention
- Working safely is a condition of employment.
- No site induction, no start.
- If it isn't safe, don't do it.
Environment and Sustainability
At Spotless, we recognise that our activities, products and services may have a significant impact on the environment. As part of our commitment to reaching our goal of "zero environmental harm," we have made big changes to the way we do business, focusing on:
- water and energy savings
- greenhouse and energy management
- environmental training
- community programs
