Health - Waste Management

It is estimated that 260 million kilograms of solid waste is produced by Australian hospitals alone each year. Minimising the environmental impact of that waste, as well as its impact on health and safety, is critical. So too is managing costs.

As waste disposal is expensive, reducing the amount of waste you produce is the key to reducing your costs and improving the ongoing operational efficiency of any healthcare facility.

There are 10 categories for hospital waste and our waste management approach focuses on segregating these waste materials at source to maximise recycling and reuse opportunities and minimise the volume of waste going to landfill.

Our waste services include:
  • General waste disposal & recycling
  • Specialist waste eg fluorescent globe mercury recycling
  • Hazardous waste removal eg asbestos removal
  • Clinical waste eg syringes in 'sharps' bins.
