Stanwell Power Station
Stanwell Power Station in Queensland is a significant operation.
With a 20 storey high boiler house, a turbine hall the length of
three football fields and a 210 metre chimney stack, it is capable
of generating 1,400 megawatts.
The Station holds a world record for number of days in continuous
operation – 1,073. With so much at stake, the Station keeps its
planned outages to an absolute minimum with the injection and
support of Spotless’ man power.
We supply the Station with up to 20,000 additional man hours
in sundry labour each year. Our staff are site inducted and trained
in site-specific systems and confined space entry. Hot, wet and
cramped work locations are commonplace during an outage –
and long working shifts need to be rostered.
This is our area of expertise. We are committed to getting Stanwell
back online as quickly and safely as possible. We enforce the
strictest fatigue management protocols at Stanwell. We assign risk
assessment and safe work procedures to each and every task that’s
carried out. This ensures that the Station is kept running by a highly
efficient and highly compliant workforce.
In addition to man power, we assist with continual improvement
across the Station’s assets. We manage the gardens, the daily
removal of coal rejects from the mills, the treatment of spiders,
cockroaches and termites, the waste removal of tyres, light bulbs,
batteries and contaminated soil, general and steel recycling, wood
collection, site access, reception and perimeter surveillance.
Spotless provides facilities management and asset maintenance support
services at over 100,000 client sites across Australia and New Zealand.
