At the 2012 Australian Open Tennis, the Cleanevent team showcased their ability to deliver world-class services at an international sporting event.
The attendance figures at this year’s Australian Open were the biggest recorded at a grand slam event anywhere in the world! And record crowds meant a big job for our Cleanevent team on the ground. Cleanevent delivered cleaning services across the Melbourne Olympic Park facilities, including the Hisense Arena, Garden Square, Grand Slam Oval and the grounds around the outer practice courts.
Because of the nature of this fast-paced event, cleaners worked to a 24 hour roster. Each night cleaners set to work picking up all the rubbish from the arena, mopping up spills in the seating areas, vacuuming the concourses, individually wiping down the10,500 seats in Hisense arena, removing rubbish from the site and cleaning the offices and training rooms in the Hisense Arena basement.
“Turnaround times can vary because sometimes big matches run until the early hours of the morning”, explains Jay Adderley, Event Manager, “meaning you have to manage staffing levels to ensure turn around between the end of the match and the 7am site check by the client”.
