We are delighted to share EPICURE’s ninth annual Gingerbread Village was a resounding success. The attraction welcomed over 55,000 visitors and raised more than $41,000 for The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Foundation, 37% more than the previous year. All donations will fund the next 150 years of world-leading research at the Royal Children’s Hospital, creating a brighter future for sick children.
“Despite our move to St Collins Lane, we still managed to smash previous visitation and donation targets” said Epicure Head of Consumer Marketing & Engagement, Rachel Dolan. “We worked hard to raise the profile of the event and I am thrilled it worked”.
EPICURE’s Executive Pastry Chef, Deniz Karaca and his team were the artists behind the masterpiece, which showcased some of Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks and a few from across the Pacific Ocean. It took the team countless hours and over 600kg of gingerbread, 460kg of royal icing and 200kg of marzipan to sculpt the entire display.
The Gingerbread Village has welcomed 453,801 visitors and raised over $450,000 in donations for different charities since 2010.
