Spotless is prepared to quench the voracious appetites of excited Richmond and Adelaide Crows fans, while they watch Australia’s biggest sporting event of the year in Melbourne this Saturday.
As the official Melbourne Cricket Ground caterer, Spotless will serve over half a million food and beverage items to Tiger and Crows fans, thirsty for a win after the long drought their teams have had for a chance to compete in the AFL Grand Final.
Our team of nearly 2,100 staff commenced their first Grand Final shift at 7pm on Friday evening with the last shift concluding at 2am on Sunday morning. Based on previous years they will serve about:
|• 65,000 litres of draught beer||• 24,000 portions of hot chips|
|• 30,000 bottles of water||• 23,000 pies and sausage rolls|
|• 13,000 hot beverages||• 4,000 hot dogs|
through more than 250 outlets at the iconic venue, including MCC Members areas, corporate suites, restaurants, cafés, dining rooms, function rooms, marquees, bars and food outlets.
This year, spectators will be completing their Grand Final experience with the best of local home-grown produce. Spotless’ premium catering brand, EPICURE, are set to serve about:
• 11,000 plated meals
• 1.2 tonne of Murray Valley spring lamb
• 150 dozen Hervey Bay scallops
• 900 bunches of Koo Wee Rup asparagus
• 220 dozen Victorian free-range eggs
• 310 kilograms of Australian strawberry jam
• 300 kilograms of Gippsland baby spinach
• 175 litres of Victorian extra virgin olive oil
• 500 punnets of Queensland raspberries
• 300 punnets of Australian baby herbs
“The passion of our hard-working team to provide a world-class stadium experience is on par with that of the fans,” said Spotless General Manager for Leisure, Sports & Entertainment Ian Delmenico. “It’s quite staggering the amount of planning, logistics and meticulous attention to detail that goes into pulling off a fantastic match day – and we really love doing it.”
In addition to the MCG, Spotless provides catering services at the 1300SMILES Stadium in Townsville, as well as nib Stadium in Perth.
