With 12 Spotless staff based at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Spotless will hire a further 80 staff to maintain the hospital’s facilities and deliver security services.
As Spotless prepares for operations in November, Spotless CEO Martin Sheppard expects Spotless jobs to grow to 92, with 95% to be Sunshine Coast residents.
Across Queensland, Spotless employs 6200 people, is currently recruiting 30 qualified security guards to service the hospital by August. Guards will be first responders to nurses, doctors, patients or others in trouble, and provide directions to people as they navigate the 20-hectare Sunshine Coast Health campus, which includes the existing Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital.
Contract Manager, Brett Frampton, featured in the Sunshine Coast Daily and noted that the security guards will work on foot throughout the hospital buildings and will patrol the perimeters of the site.
“It is a profession that has a lot of reward and can provide a lot of satisfaction.”
Guards will be equipped with a high-tech monitoring system including 700 video cameras, to detect movement and alert guards.
Spotless was awarded the Sunshine Coast University Hospital service contract in 2012.
