On October 10, Spotless joined Belconnen Community Service and Uniting Care Kippax to help clean the backyards of Housing ACT properties, as part of the 10/10 Project.
On the day, tasks included cleaning and removing rubbish, cutting trees and shrubs, mulching, planting, and cutting grass.
The 10/10 Project is an annual community volunteering project run by Belconnen Community Service (BCS), with ten teams, ten yards and gardens in ten hours.
BCS help to provide a free yard and garden clean-up for up to ten participants who access BCS programs or reside in a Housing ACT property.
The Project provides support for the disadvantaged and those of ill-health, who are unable to care for their yards and gardens. People and families are selected for the Project in relation to the particular challenges they might face.
This initiative is a great example of the community and the government working together to make a difference for those in need.
