Talent shines at Melbourne Town Hall for Spring Fashion Week

Top local and international designers showcased their latest collections earlier this month at Melbourne Town Hall as part of a premier global fashion event.

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW) ran from August 26 to September 2 and featured emerging and established designers, retailers and brands showcasing their new season styles.

This week-long event positions Melbourne as Australia’s fashion capital and Melbourne Town Hall has been involved for each of its 22 years.

EPICURE was proud to support MSFW and provide hospitality for several events and VIP functions across the week. In 2016, Melbourne Town Hall hosted six designer runway and two emerging designer runway events, which featured a total of 156 models.

Some other key numbers for MSFW at the iconic venue include :

  • Welcoming about 1000 people each day a runway event was hosted
  • About 350 volunteers working across more than 1500 shifts
  • An additional 560 chairs brought into the main hall to seat runway guests
  • About 100 hours spent by hair and makeup teams working across several events.

About 85 per cent of the clothing designs featured at MSFW are produced in Melbourne or Victoria and all items can be purchased in Melbourne.

In addition to runway events, Melbourne Town Hall housed Renault’s 2016 Showcase and hosted a variety of live entertainment in the MSFW Bar at the venue.

EPICURE is a Spotless company that provides catering and event services at a range of locations throughout Australia and New Zealand.
