Spotless delivers linen and laundry services to 194 SA Health locations across metro and regional South Australia, ensuring that 6,100 patients sleep on clean SA Health sheets every night. Recently, this 17-year linen contract with SA Health was extended to 2022.
Over the next few years, Spotless will invest further in the partnership – in infrastructure upgrades and energy-efficient equipment. Improved sustainability and efficiency practices are key objectives of the partnership, as well as the application of new technologies. Radio frequency identification (RFID) tagging is being explored to track high volume linen to monitor linen usage and provide accurate inventory for better management and quality assurance practices.
Spotless began providing linen services to the healthcare provider after acquiring the Central Linen business from the State Government in January 2000, and grew the Dudley Park Laundry to employ over 300 people and support more than 397 local businesses.
