Through a 30-year arrangement with the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, Spotless will deliver facilities management for ten (nine existing and one new) university campus residencies, which will house as many as 3,760 students. The team will be responsible for a range of building upgrade and maintenance activities, including fire safety, waste disposal, grounds and air-conditioning. The contract represents Spotless’ 17th successful PPP initiative. Valued in excess of $200 million over its 30-year term, the contract will include a fund for future capital upgrades and is expected to provide for a significant number of jobs. This model will prove highly beneficial to the ANU as it will provide budget certainty for three decades, allowing university management to focus on student and research outcomes.
